Transportation

The Warrensburg Central School District Transportation Department's mission is the safe transportation of students to and from school every day.

Our drivers have an outstanding safety record and are annually recognized by Utica National for their safe driving. Additionally, New York State tracks the driving records of each of our drivers. all of our transportation employees receive yearly training and refreshers.

Our team of mechanics work daily to ensure that our fleet of buses are properly maintained. This year, the New York State Department of Transportation rated Warrensburg's program as one of the best in the state with an In-Service rate of 100% for district buses.

Bus Rules

  1. Be courteous and do not use foul language.

  2. No eating or drinking on the bus.

  3. Pick up after yourself.

  4. Cooperate with the bus driver, bus monitor or other school official on the bus.

  5. No smoking.

  6. Do not be destructive.

  7. Stay in your seat.

  8. Keep your hands, head and feet inside the bus.

Parking Lot Safety

Please do not idle or park in the bus lanes. This prevents our students from safely getting on and off the bus. Please use designated pick up and drop off zones. Do not cut across the parking lots or stop in non-designated areas. This leads to congestion that makes it unsafe for staff, students as well as parents.

Idling School Buses on School Grounds

State law requires school districts to take steps to minimize the idling of the engines of school buses and other school vehicles on school grounds. While students are boarding and departing school buses, the engine should be turned off. Students should be instructed about the importance of getting on and off buses in an orderly and efficient fashion to minimize loading and unloading time. Bus engines should also be off while parked at sporting events and other school activities. Exceptions to this “no idling” policy can be made in cases of emergency, mechanical issues or for necessary heating.
