Staff Recognized for Commitment to Restorative Practices

This week, members of our staff were recognized at the Warren County Criminal Justice Committee for their work with the YReconnects Community of Practice program. The program aims to provide alternatives to intervention for students and families in Warren County who are at risk of entrance or furtherance into the criminal justice system.

Beginning in 2021, the Warrensburg Central School District has worked with partnered groups under the YReconnects Community of Practice umbrella to establish mediation and restorative practice opportunities for at-risk students. The YReconnects Community of Practice program ties together groups in the area with a common goal, including the Glens Falls Central School District, the Warren County Public Defenders Office, the Office of Community Services for Warren and Washington Counties, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks.

We would like to thank the members of our staff who have taken the time to bring these programs to our district: Jessica Mossing (Jr/Sr High School Counselor), John Friauf (Jr/Sr High School Social Worker), Chris Herbst ( Jr/Sr High School Psychologist), Maddie Centerbar (8th Grade Social Studies teacher), Jeff Holcomb (Jr/Sr High School Principal), Keith LaLone (Elementary School Principal, Ronda Morris (Elementary School Counselor) and Kate Fisher (Elementary School Social Worker)
