On Tuesday, May 19, Warrensburg CSD residents voted to approve the district’s proposed $25.97 million budget for the 2026-27 school year that carries a 2.5% tax levy increase.

The proposed $25.97 million budget will allow WCSD to focus on strategic developments in the areas of academics, wellness, community engagement, and character development as outlined in the long-range plan. The budget will fund programs that provide students pathways to careers in the trades, college, and the military, as well as the continuation of recently added Career and Technical Education classes, clubs, and extracurricular activities district-wide.

“We are grateful to the Warrensburg community for their continued support of our school district,” said Superintendent Amy Langworthy. “The Warrensburg Central School District is committed to preparing our students to be respectful and successful citizens. The approval of the budget will allow us to continue to open doors for our students. It is encouraging to see our community supporting the goals we have set for the 2026–27 school year.”

The community voted to approve two additional propositions on the ballot. This will allow the district to lease three 48-passenger buses for a five-year term and purchase a hot water heater and snow plow blade to improve the efficiency of snow removal.

There were two seats on the board of education on the ballot. The community voted to reelect Maria Beadnell and Ian Measeck to fill these seats. The terms for the seats runs from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2030.
