The Warrensburg Central School District Board of Education and administrative team have worked collaboratively throughout the school year to develop a budget proposal that is both fiscally responsible to taxpayers and aligned with the needs and goals in our Long-Range Plan.
The proposed budget would support the student pathway programs that empower students to explore potential careers while still in our classrooms and also position the district for a strong fiscal future. In light of anticipated changes in aid structures, rising costs and shifting enrollment, this investment in our financial wellbeing would help ensure the district can continue to responsively serve future generations of students and our community.
The proposed 2026-27 budget of $25,964,208 reflects a $2,198,694 (9.25%) increase over the 2025-26 school year. Of the total increase, $1,448,691 comes from debt service that would be offset by New York State Building Aid as a result of our recent Capital Project that will have $0 impact on the taxpayer and will be completed by September 2026. Adjusting for the increased debt service, the increase for programs and administration is $750,003 (3.1%) over the 2025-26 budget.
This proposal would support strategic developments in our key areas of academics, wellness, community engagement and character development. The proposed tax levy is $8,433,780, which is a 2.5% increase over the 2025-26 school year and below the district’s calculated tax levy limit of 3.1%.
Our Board of Education, administrative team, faculty and staff remain committed to our mission: to educate, nurture, and empower students within a safe and supportive environment so they may become respectful and successful citizens of the global community. With the proposed budget and our plans for the upcoming school year, we are confident we can achieve our goals.
