NYS DOH and Local Health Department Guideline for Students Returning to School
October 2, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It has come to our attention that there is a mistake on the NYS COVID Report Card.  The Warrensburg Central School District has had only one confirmed case of COVID-19 related to the school.  We are trying to correct the error with the NYSDOH.  It appears that the reports by the Warren County Public Health Department and the Warrensburg Central School District are appearing as two separate cases.  The dashboard can only be corrected by NYSDOH.  We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Late this afternoon the district learned that an individual in Warrensburg Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last in the school building on the morning of Monday, September 28.

The district assisted the Warren County Department of Health with the investigation and it was determined that the risk of exposure was minimal. The district will be in touch with the families of those who were in proximity to the COVID positive individual.

The district has been following all of the proper protocols including temperature checks, health screenings, physical distancing, mask wearing, and hand washing. The district has been thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all of our buildings in accordance with guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC. As an added measure of precaution, please monitor your child(ren) for any symptoms of COVID, which can be found on the CDC website.

Please note the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws prohibit us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

At this time, our district remains open for in-person instruction under the guidance of Warren County Public Health. Please contact the district office if you would like more information about our health and safety procedures.

If you have any questions regarding our safety protocols please contact the district office at 518-623-2861.
