The conference will be held at SUNY Albany over the course of four days and is designed to help sophomores build and utilize their leadership talents. The Early College Career Academy (ECCA) is offering an interactive event designed to introduce girls in 8th and 9th grade to educational and career opportunities in STEM. Attendees will have a chance to visit each of their four programs (Advanced Manufacturing, Business & Entrepreneurship, Information Technology / Computer Networking, and New Media) and hear from female professionals in the industry. The event will be held on March 13 at the SUNY Adirondack Queensbury Campus. Please contact your school counselor to register for this opportunity. Registration is due by February 28.

After our early release day on Friday, Camp Inspire students from Warrensburg, Johnsburg, and North Warren Schools came together in the Warrensburg High School Gym for their first meeting of the year. Counselors from the camp joined students as they taught the importance of empathy, diversity, equality, inclusion, and belonging, and how understanding these topics builds better leaders.

Early this afternoon the High School main office was made aware of a social media post from a former student that concerned some of our students. Law enforcement was contacted and has investigated. They deemed there is no threat. However, there will be law enforcement presence at dismissal today. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact the Superintendent's office.

The Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Warren County Board of Supervisors are once again offering full scholarships for week-long, overnight summer sessions at camps in the area. This opportunity is open to children ages 7-16. Anyone interested in applying can pick up an application from the Main Office in either of our school buildings. Applications must be submitted by March 1st. Recipients are determined by the Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Warren County. Next week, our Elementary Student Council will be hosting a Spirit Week to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). JDRF is the leading global organization harnessing the power of research, advocacy, and community engagement to advance life-changing breakthroughs for type 1 diabetes (T1D). We are so proud of our Elementary Student Council for their willingness to get involved in tackling this issue. There is a $5 suggested donation to participate in this full week of spirit. Donations can be left at WES with Shannon Fish in the Main Office or Ronda Morris in room 213.

Our Senior National Honor Society students have started selling books to benefit Project Cameron Story. The mission of Project Cameron’s Story is to support the bonding of parents with their premature babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), through the use of children’s literature and storytelling. Please see a National Honor Society student to support this outstanding cause! This benefit will end on Wednesday, February 14th.

Over the weekend, the Saratoga Warren County Music Educators Association (SWCMEA) hosted their music festival at the Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake High School that showcased the top musicians from 11 regional school districts. Warrensburg Senior Aubree Parker was selected as a student-musician to perform with this group. Aubree played the barisax. The ensemble performed four well-known charts by jazz greats: Miles Davis "Boplicity"; Oliver Nelson "Stolen Moments"; John Coltrane "Naima"; and Sonny Rollins "Tenor Madness". David Fisk directed the band, and their performance was outstanding!
