Kindergarten Screening will take place on May 22nd. If your child is going to be 5 years of age on or before December 1st, 2024, you will receive a letter regarding your screening time. Incoming kindergarten students will be given a screening test called the DIAL-IIII. This test will assess your child’s developmental skills and language skills. The test also provides the school with information about how the child performs different skills, such as motor skills (how the child uses his/her body), knowledge of basic concepts (counting and colors), and language. The child’s behavior during screening will also be noted. Are they listening to directions, fidgeting, able to separate from a parent? While your child is being screened, there will be some paperwork for parents to fill out so that the kindergarten teachers can learn more about your child. There will also be some handouts about “Kindergarten Readiness.” A letter will be sent to you in the mail regarding your child’s score on the DIAL IIII. If the school has any concerns about your child’s screening results, you will be contacted to discuss this further. The purpose of the screening is to help the school, you, and your child prepare for a year of learning and fun!

Over the weekend, our Elementary Drama Club performed Disney's Finding Nemo Jr. for their families and the community! It was a beautiful sight, students showcased their acting and singing skills in this rendition of the Pixar classic. The detailed costumes, creative makeup, and unique set designs brought us all under the sea for the two night-only shows. Everyone who participated should be proud of their work! Countless thank yous go out to our staff, students, and community members who helped to create this experience. Our auditorium was packed both nights.
