The district is pleased to launch “Parent Zone.”  This is a free program open to parents and guardians of students in the district in all grades.

The first session is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12 at 7:15 p.m. at Richards Library. The topic for the evening is “Children, Stress and Mental Health,” presented by Carol Goodsell-Hobbs, MSW, a social worker based in Glens Falls. Attendees will learn how chronic stress or trauma impacts children and their education, how the brain of a child develops, and the mental health issues common in today’s youth.

There will be two other sessions scheduled for the remainder of the school year and will be cover a different topic such as internet safety, early literacy, etc. The session locations will rotate throughout the community in an effort to make it convenient for as many guests to attend as possible and free childcare will be available.

RSVP’s are not required and we hope to see you there!
