Representatives from TRIO Upward Bound will be meeting with 9th & 10th grade students on Thursday, October 25 and will be following up with a parent presentation on Tuesday, October 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Jr./Sr. High School Library.

The District has partnered with SUNY Adirondack to give our students an opportunity to join the TRIO Upward Bound program. This program is 100% funded by the U.S. Department of Education and serves low-income and/or first generation high school students and families at no cost. (A first generation student is any student whose parents have not earned a four year college degree (bachelor's degree).

The goal for TRIO Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which first-generation college students graduate from high school and enroll and graduate from college. This year-round program serves students during the school year and during the summer months. Services include weekly meetings with an Upward Bound advisor at school, career exploration, college preparation, tutoring, community service projects, skill building workshops, college trips and leadership activities.
